It’s OK that sentimental favorite Bridges wins Best Actor, beating Colin Firth’s more delicate portrayal in A Single Man. Hoorah for Meryl, tasting her just desserts after 11 also-ran nominations since her last Oscar.  Mo’Nique let ugly pour onto the screen in the surest lock of the year.  Hm. Christoph Waltz’s fresh play at Nazi evil beats Christopher Plummer’s more substantive role as Leo Tolstoy.
